Greetings to everyone reading this.

My name is Robbie Bronnimann and as well as being a producer/remixer & recording artist I also showcase TC Electronic’s Computer Recording products at international shows such as NAMM & Musikmesse.

As a producer I have produced & written for artists such as Sugababes & Howard Jones & remixed for artists such as Chicane, Ferry Corsten, Art Of Trance.

Earlier this year at the 2009 NAMM Show we tried a live version of the successful Global Konnekt project that TC Electronic has been running as an online video series to highlight the whole TC Electronic product range.

This consisted of me daily recording live at the show anyone who had some talent and fancied a shot playing bass, guitar, or singing. I took all these elements and built a track from scratch everyday which had to be finished by the end of show every day at 6 when it was posted on the TC Electronic website along with a blog from myself about the day.

We will be running the same concept at the 2009 Musikmesse, but thought it would be great fun in the weeks leading up to the show to initiate an online version. Record your tracks, send it to us and you’ll have the chance to win great prizes. We’ll select one submitted track for each song who’ll be the lucky winner of their choice of one desktop konnekt 6, one Nova Pedal, one VoiceTone Pedal or one Level Pilot.

So this is how it’s going to work:

1) I will provide two basic starting drum tracks and stipulate a starting key signature and tempo

2) You are invited to download that as an mp3 and record your own parts drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, vox

3) The recording schedule will be laid out per day in instrument group:

MONDAY/TUESDAY (March 16th & 17th) – bass
WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY (March 18th, 19th & 20th) – guitars
SATURDAY/SUNDAY (March 21st & 22nd) – keyboards
MONDAY/TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY (March 23rd, 24th & 25th) – vox & solo instruments

Remember to enter your contact info, should you be the lucky winner of one of the prizes.
Also please enter which song (1 or 2) your track belongs to.

(Please do not add any FX such as reverb/delay etc unless it is integral to the sound (guitarists aside) as this will compromise mixing ability)

I will sift through the recordings and post work in progress daily so that the next recording group has a new track to work with.

It would be great to have people on the blog commenting on featured parts as they are added

Hopefully we can get some amazing mash up style tracks each week featuring people’s performances.

All contributors whose parts are used will be credited on the TC Electronic website. Contributors are giving their parts to be used by TC Electronic purely for the purpose of this initiative only.

  5. David says:

This is great, but it is slightly unclear when it all takes place. Is the bass part due Tues March 17 2009 or some other date?

  6. giovanni says:

yep, i’ll drop something in the mix!

  7. I’m in!!! What about Saxes sessions too??? Too challenging, I like it!

  8. Mitch says:

This seems cool. When exactly do the tracks have to be submitted? Before the show or does it have to be during the week of the show according to the recording schedule above?

  9. So great to see all the comments!
Bass tracks are ticking in and so far it seems it’ll turn out to be a really fun project.
Sorry about the confusion regarding the time schedule.
    The schedule is this:

    MONDAY/TUESDAY (March 16th & 17th) – bass
    WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY (March 18th, 19th & 20th) – guitars
    SATURDAY/SUNDAY (March 21st & 22nd) – keyboards
    MONDAY/TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY (March 23rd, 24th & 25th) – vox & solo instruments

So you can post your tracks until Wednesday 25th.
If you missed out sending in your bass track Monday or Tuesday, then don’t hessitate submitting afterall. Robbie will take a listen to it and see if it’ll fit in.

All we’re saying is: Guitarists and solo instruments, please hold your horses untill there’s a drum + bass track ready.

Robbie will post some mixes during the week so guitarists, vocalists etc. can put their tracks on top of it.
And yes, please submit your sax track as well ;o)

COME ON I KNOW YOUR NOT SHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. bossa says:

Trying to download that bass file but can’t seem to find the button on the SoundCloud site

  16. Paul E says:

    Hi Bossa:

    Check here: http://blog.tcelectronic.com/2009/03/18/drum-and-bass-line-ready-for-guitarists/

Use Soundcloud just to upload your track, not to downloading the mixed (which so far are drun n’ bass).

At least, that’s what I understood (and did, although my submission is quite weird concerning the music style)

    Cheers,

    Paul Evans

  17. bossa says:

Cheers Paul.. I figured it out…

    It’s an interesting excerise this…

  18. bossa says:

Hmm.. I ended up writing a guitar instrumental around the bass and drums.. not my usual style at all but I enjoyed it though and will upload tomorrow..

I hope I have my time zones right…

  19. Robert says:

Hello. I was very late in sending my guitar file. Sorry
Did not catch the deadline ’til it was too late.
I hope Robbie will have a look at it anyway. Have worked intesely on it
Very exited about the project :-)

  20. Kapa says:

i have already uploaded my guitar parts, is that all we have to do? upload? or do we have to send it to somone?

  21. bossa says:

I uploaded a guitar part to the TCE drop box but I have no idea if it is in any catagory or just lost in space… I added the keyword Global Konnekt Online.

Had late gig last night which may explain my lack of a solid point of reference.. ;)

  22. Man I got buzy and never had time to download the drum tracks(Had a baby on the 26th) keep me in the loop if you do this again. Buy the way I have a widget of your company blog on my website. I hope you dont mind. Peace.
